Unlike other SARMs, S-23 is one of the chemical compounds with the fewest referenced studies or trials available online—meaning more research is needed to fully understand and explore the therapeutic potential of this powerful SARM.
Nonetheless, as analyzed in this article by NG Labs, this SARM is being used in rat studies to evaluate the quality of spermatogenesis. In fact, unlike testosterone—which has shown biphasic effects in the testes and other tissues—S-23 has only demonstrated such effects in specific organs.
What is S-23 (Sarmbolone)?
S-23 Sarmbolone is a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM), intended as a potential alternative for the treatment of prostate hypertrophy and hyperplasia. S-23 is the first molecule of its kind developed for this purpose and exerts distinct effects on the body and its metabolism.
S-23 is a non-steroidal, orally active SARM, with very high binding affinity for androgen receptors. This makes it one of the most potent SARMs currently available.
Effects of S-23 (Sarmbolone)
Research indicates that the main effects of S-23 are:
- Increased lean muscle mass
- Decreased body fat
- Reduction in prostate gland size
As a selective androgen receptor modulator, the molecule is highly targeted and will not bind indiscriminately to androgen receptors. It specifically affects one type of androgen receptor: DHT (dihydrotestosterone).
Unlike SARMs such as Ostarine or LGD-4033, S-23 has not yet been studied in humans.
