What is Alpha-MSH?

Alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) is a peptide belonging to the melanocortin family, consisting of 13 amino acids. Initially known for stimulating skin pigmentation, scientific studies later revealed that α-MSH also plays a key role in regulating inflammation and immunomodulation, reproductive function, and homeostasis.
